Whether you are looking for cultural sights or Catalan experiences, there is so much to do and see just around the corner from L'Albi. Below are a few examples, but we've explained suggested day trips more extensively in our Stories.
Less than 20 minutes away, the Poblet Monastery is a still-functioning monastery that also provides audio-guided tours --and invites guests to join their Sunday service.
L'Albi sits in the foothills of the Prades, so within minutes you're driving up the mountain. Head up to the tiny village of Siurana for the views and the hiking, before going halfway back down for lunch at La Font in Prades (the village).
Of course there are beaches all along the coast, just a 40 min drive away--take your pick and be perfectly happy! But might we suggest Roda de Berá or La Mora, where we love to get lunch at Beach House La Mora (linked above).
...or Tarraco, as it was called in Empire times. There you can explore Roman ruins, get some actually great souvenirs at La Botiga del Bon Gust, and tour our favorite cathedral in Spain, right in the middle of Tarragona's old neighborhood, Part Alta.
