Residencies

l'Artesania hosts a creative residency program each fall and spring. The residency provides a group experience for all creatives-whether you're a writer, an artist, a designer... if it's creative, you are invited to apply. Residencies do not need to be the full month: apply for a three day stay, the full month, or anything in-between. We'll work to combine just the right people together throughout the month.

Residency programming is geared to take responsibilities off your plate and let you focus on your own creative work, while also providing a chance to connect with other creatives and even offers the possibility of including an exhibition or reading at the end of your stay if desired. During the residency, breakfast and dinner is provided in-house, a single weekend outing is planned for the group, and you are welcome to work at your own rhythm and pace with no responsibilities other than to your work during your stay with us.

Retreats​

Self-guided Personal Retreats

Perhaps you just need time away, your own room with a desk, and access to a kitchen and a workspace. You're fine with sharing space with other creatives, you're not looking to spend much money, and you look forward to concentrating only on your own retreat needs. Personal retreat rentals start at 40 euros/night, and can be reserved here--or contact Holly with questions.

Lead Your Own Retreat

With access to a large studio with ample gathering space, five bedrooms, two sofa-beds, and two bathrooms, l'Artesania is a great space for leading your own small group retreat. If you want to DIY the entire process, great! You can make a reservation on Booking.com or talk to Holly for more arrangements. She's always available to help with food in-house or at a restaurant, assist with logistics for your workshops or gatherings, and answer any questions you may have. Join a Retreat Hosted by Holly or Dee

Holly leads retreats and workshops, currently focusing on two themes: 

• Keeping a Creative Notebook: explore the practice of journaling, with both writing and visual play. Holly is a certified journaling coach and has decades of experience teaching all ages.

• Abstracting the Landscape: explore the landscape around L'Albi and spend plein air sessions in olive groves and fields learning to loosen up your interpretations of the world around you.

Dee leads all-inclusive retreats every fall and spring with Holly and their collaborator Courtney. The retreat, called "Liberated Margins," is a time to explore the culture and beauty around Catalunya and find respite and restoration from the pressures of the societal margins. It's geared specifically for queer and trans people, BiPoC people, and/or their co-conspirators. You can learn more about the retreat here on their substack of the same name: Liberated Margins.
